Tracy Schlaud-Professional Photographer
In 1992 I graduated from High School after spending most of my time in the drama department. I found myself looking for direction and purpose in my life, wondering what in the world am I going to do? So, after spending a few semesters at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, I found myselft joining the United States Navy where they told me I would be a photographer. I couldn't believe you could join the military and have a creative job!! So they sent me to school and I spent the next five years taking pictures in all different settings from the studio to hanging from the door of a helicopter!
After the Navy I found a place for myself in retail photography managing different stores with The Picture People. I even spent a little time shooting at the local Glamour Shots (yes folks Glamour shots!). I also managed a 100% digital studio in Northern Virginia called Kid e Portraits. I have had a blast no matter what studio I worked in or what other photographer I worked for, but it was time to blaze my own trail instead of following someone else's.
I have always loved photography, and I suspect I always will, especially when I get to have that one-on-one time in a session to really get into the personality of my client.
